Nail Rock Designer Nail Wrap Review

Hiya guys and girlies so I have been ultra busy with things and blogging has been left in the background a bit, but not too worry it won't be a permanent thing that blogging gets neglected but I've just started college plus with my osteomyelitis being persistent things have been a little tiring but I am here.
So yeah finally back at college studying fashion which has been a long time coming (I actually started last September but due to health reasons I had to be deferred until now)
So today I thought I would sample my new nail wraps by Nail Rock because I have used them before and thought they were amazing schamazing super duper doo (ha ha )
So these ones were purchased from my local trusty boots store and were in the bargain basket at a mere £3.66 and I went for a cool black and white striped design.
The kits are really handy and come complete with nail prep wipe and nail file with a little orange stick.
They are super quick and easy to apply you prep nails with the wipe(you can also optionally buff your nails aswel to aid adhesion, push cuticles back file edges and your ready to start your transformation.
Now you basically smooth them over your entire nail and file the excess off. If you use a warm hairdryer to gently heat the wraps you will get a more uniform smooth result (I unfortunately didn't' have my hairdryer with me though and I ended up with some creases.
You can apply them over every nail or get creative choosing alternate nails or they look fan cut into strips and shapes over polished nails. Intact the last pack I had I used  to do all over my nails and then after that with the leftovers a week or so later I painted nails with a coloured polish and then used scissors to cut diaganol, vertical strips etc and they looked amazing.
So back to these ones, I thought they were OK but compared to previous designs and applications I was dissapointed. They did'nt look as striking and were creased, but I should have used my hairdryer to apply so I have only myself to blame for that.

They did'nt last as long either as usual as the edges kept curling up and by next evening I felt suffocated by them(don't' ask, I get a very weird feeling sometimes when nails are covered and I feel as though I can't, nails can't' breathe) probably need psychiatric help for that though lol so yeah I pulled them off.
Nail rocks are great though and don't' damage your nails which is helpful.

I think nail wraps look really eye catching and although I am sure there are plenty of Nail technicians out there that have got the skills, artistic flair and patience to re-create some of the designs available in a wrap there are some designs that could only be available in wrap form. Also you could never create the designs in such short time with out the risk of smudging and smearing, as you would with polish.
For this reason I do think wraps are a wonderful creation especially as I am crap with my nails and with wraps I can actually have pretty nice looking hands. Even though I found this particular design harder to achieve a perfect finish, giving what I already know about past applications I won't let this deter me from buying more Wrap sets by Nail Rock. I have tried other brands before and absolutly hated them, I once paid £12.00 for some gorgeous tribal wraps and they were that hard and plasticky, that they refused to mould around my nail, again another expensive brand (luckily on offer at TkMaxx) are sat in the pack still gathering dust as they were too thick and would'nt stick, I was well upset aswell as they were a beautiful metalic Silver and would have been lovely if they had actually worked.
I have always wondered how ineffective products that are poor or don't actually work, make it on to the shelfs for retail, i mean companies test these products don't they? really strange. I hav'nt named the poor products yet as I am working on a post of bad products that I have bought that either don't do what they should do or are not good so I will let you know the wraps Ive struggled with on that post.

So let me no what you think, or what your fave wrap is, have you noticed differences in different colour , brand of wraps? or do you prefer false nails or freshly manicured nails. Please , please comment I love to hear from you all and I hate too see my comments section empty makes me feel like I have failed to connect with you somewhere, and if i have lol then let me no where!
If you do comment and you are a fellow blogger then give me your links I love to read new blogs :)

My Day to Day Make-up

I Dont always wear make-up but on the days I do and If I don't have anything important, or exciting to do then this look is the one you will see me sporting.
So for the base I use concealer under my eyes and on any imperfections or discolourations I may have, sometimes this is enough, especially if I have been a good girl and been cleansing and moisturising correctly
If my skin is less than perfect though , which is 99% of the time then I will use a foundation over the top.
I like Mac concealers for heavy imperfections, or for brightening under the eyes I like the No7 brush concealers. I also really like the No7 Protect and perfect foundation or the maybelline dream matte mousse for everyday wear.
Next up I use a light cream/ shell coloured eyeshadow something like the No7 Stay Perfect, followed by a brown eyebrow pencil.
I then like to have a quick flick over my eyes with the topliner this one i used here is models own Hi- Definer Pro - eyeliner, then a couple of coats of a black Mascara.
I love mascara Im loving the Benefit There Real, but I also like the LOreal Volume Million Lashes
I always like to use bronzer on my cheeks, forehead and nose ( all the areas that would catch the sun the most), this makes for a natural sun kissed, healthy glow. Bronzers are a hard one for me, I struggle to find a good colour, but I get on well with the Soap and Glory Bronzer, the Bourjois Ones are good for me also and I have a old Revlon one thats really nice.
If all else fails and I have the money the Guerlain Mosaic ones are Amazing.
For my lips I keep it natural with a nude colour or a fleshy pink, the one I am using here is the Apocalips by Rimmel in Nude Eclipse.
So yeah thats it, for my every day look( though it isn't everyday lol because I like to let my skin breathe sometimes inbetween)

Let me know what you think, whats your everyday essential?

Spots......What's really to blame.

I woke up this morning with the mother of spots on my chin and it got me thinking........So we all have suffered with spots right ? Some more than others, as a teenager I was plagued with them and even now in my 20's I still have pesky breakouts.
So why? Well I am going to share with you some reasons I bet you have never thought of, but which are more than likely causing a good percentage of those stubborn pimples.

1. Mobile phones and Telephones.

yep, that's right. What do we do we transfer bacteria from our hands, handbags, pockets right on to our mobiles then slap it against our cheeks and proceed in talking to our best mates for half an hour. Meanwhile all this nasty bacteria is having a party on our face and in our pores.
Same goes for office work phones and even house phones (bet you forget to clean the receiver when you do your daily chores).
Another cause can be the metal on the outside of the phone itself. If you are allergic to nickel these often contain this metal which is a known skin allergen.

So what is the solution? Well it is simple really ..... Clean handsets frequently and if allergic to nickel use hand free sets.
Also be sure to remove make up before bed and use a anti- acne toner.

2.The Comfort Food Blues......

Eating  foods that are starchy, sweet , or Fatty (my weekly diet is out then ha ha) on a frequent basis causes insulin levels to rise.
This causes oil production, inflammation and blockages in the pores and before you can know it your stuck with those red angry spots again.

Try to eat a varied diet of fruit and veg, lean proteins and grains and nuts.
Don't deny yourself but it is all about balance.

3. Your boyfriend is the culprit?

Ever snuggle up to your boyfriend in bed? Head laid on his chest all cosy and warm?
Sleeping with your face on his chest, arm or any other body part means you have his oils to contend with aswel as your own.
This mixed with the heat from his body means the oils get embedded deep into your pores and yep you guessed what happens next.

If you must sleep this way ( i know i do) be sure to use a wash in the morning containing salicylic acid.
If breakouts are persistent the doctor can actually prescribe Salicylic acid for you as a face wash.

Another thing you should do and am sure you know is always clean your make-up brushes and sponges weekly.
Just use a mild soap or face wash and leave to air dry

So I am sure there are hundreds of other culprits, what do you think? Comment let me no your spot busting solutions. Believe me you can see by the picture This sister is in need.

How to tweeze eyebrows like a pro.

Please excuse my dodgy diagrams hahaha  I never was amazing at art.
I hope they give a good enough reflection to guide you on your quest for perfect brows a la Megan Fox . Good brows are mostly down to genetics but there are ways to improve there appearance if you were not blessed with amazing brows, or if you have over tweezed them.
Hmmm while we are on the subject of over tweezed brows remember when doing your own eyebrows not to take too much away. Start slowly and remember you can take more away but you can't put more hairs back if you tweeze too many.
Follow your natural shape if you naturally have eyebrows that are thin with a low arch then face the facts that you can't turn them into brows like Angelina.

So you have tweezed your brows to the best shape possible but your still unhappy :( .....Don't worry there are still plenty of things you can do to help.
If your brows don't match your hair colour or you would like them to appear darker, you could dye them. This can be done professionaly in the beauty salon, or you can do the procedure at home with a kit.
The most effective way of improving your brows and the way they look is ultimately through make-up.
If you have been blessed with great brows but they tend to have a mind of there own and move about,  then a clear brow gel is the product for you. Just sweep it on with the comb provided and they will stay in place for hours. My fave brow gel is Bobbi Brown Natural Brow.
I don't use it myself but have used it lot's when doing models make-up.
Next up is Highlighting eyeshadow, I could not live without this, by sweeping something such as Bourjois little round pot Eye light - 01 Blanc Dore under your brows along the brow bone. This accentuates your eyes and highlights the brows, working together to frame your face. I don't swear by a certain highlighter to use here. The bourjois range are great but as long as you choose something pale and shimmery then it should work well. Now i have saved the most obvious and essential product for last.......... The humble eyebrow pencil /or eyebrow powder. Good or bad most brows benefit from some simple filling in. Some brows are patchy(mine are for sure). Match the colour that best suits your brows, there are lots too choose from. If you are naturally blonde and have dyed brunette hair then you can use a brown colour to match your brows.
Take small steady strokes following your brow start to end. If using powder then you will need a special angled brow brush (alot come with this), mine is a Ruby and Millie angled brush.

Hopefully this guide has been useful to you. It is just my take on brows. It may not be your cup of tea but it is what ive learned along the way.  I would love to hear what works for you or any tips you have to share.

Barry M Limited Edition Nail Paint Review

Hello everyone I do hope you are busy being fabulous as I obviously am not being at all fab , no I am being miserable still, stuck with this silly pink pot on.So i got my other half to drive me to Superdrug to grab some essentials and whilst there sticking with the pink theme i purchased the Barry M Nail Paint in Limited Edition shade 322.
This is my perfect shade of pink in the bottle so I thought id give it a whirl, even though i've previously been unimpressed with the Nail paints .

As i said in the actual bottle it is my perfect shade of pink , but after one coat it was patchy and a bit wishy washy. Now iv said it before i am not good with nail polishes anyway and after two coats it did look a lot better.
i would imagine if you are good at doing your nails in the first place, you probably won't have any issues with this.

Now I put this on in the evening and when i awoke the next day after getting dressed and making a cuppa i noticed a chip on my index finger, by that evening it needed removing. For this reason it is good for days or nights out but not a hard wearing polish.

I think Barry M are fantastic for there choice of colours and textures and are amazing for matching outfit and nails , or working a look around a varnish but are best for short term day or night use.
They are good value for money as they are not overly priced at around £3.99
Let me no what you think, what is your fave nail product or what do you think of barry m polishes.
I love hearing from you so please comment or follow me on twitter @beautygeekfashc

MAYBELLINE BABY LIPS REVIEW

Hi guys hope your all busy busy being fabulous, it's a shame about the weather though. If you live in the north of england as i do then you will have woken to a grey miserable and windy sataday.
Oh well im sure your all far too cheery to let a thing like that get in your way.
So today im bringing you the Maybelline Baby Lips Review, purely because i've seen so much hype around this product, but a few of the reviews i've seen have not portrayed it to be that great.
Naturally i needed to find out for myself so I was really happy to see it on the tills of my local Superdrug store.
I only ended up buying one but wish id tried the others now, so il probably be heading back.
I love pink and especially adore pink lip products so i went for the pink punch shade.
Now the Baby Lips are actually lip balms with colour added to them. This makes them perfect for summer holidays, a must have for those hot sticky days (hmmm not today obviously).
I don't know about the other shades but the one i have is great and i've used it every day since i purchased
It. It is'nt heavy with it being lip balm based but i think it still adds a really pretty pink sheen to your lips.
Its nice and moist and i am so going to buy the others.
It is perfect for those of you (teenagers) out there who like to wear make-up to school as it isn't too heavy, and  again it's great for people on the go who don't like to wear alot or heavy make-up products.
Do u wanna know one of the best things aswell, which is a huge bonus it only cost me £2.99 from Superdrug.
So major bargain aswel for a really nice little make-up item...................

Well ive got 4 followers now via Bloglovin so its increased from the big fat 0 i had.
Follow me on twitter @beautygeekfashc and on bloglovin also.
If you don't like what i do let me no as critisism helps improvement and if im doing something wrong id like to know so that i can fix it and make you guys happy.

love and hugs

Barbie dresses, My little pony jumper Clothes that match my 3 year old Hot or Not

So Today my new Barbie Dress arrived and I must say I was grinning almost as much as my 3 year old daughter was (Although I think she may have thought it was hers as i unwrapped it).
Is it really cool though or are we (I) conning are selves into thinking it is because we want a little piece of childhood back.
Are we secretly longing for our barbie and ken dolls back and somehow these toy themed fashion pieces fill a deep longing for our childhood play time. Ha ha
I don't know I don't think it is that ,Ive always been a girly girl. I adore Hello Kitty and most pink and sparkly things.
I don't however find myself playing with my girls dolls when im alone ( although Alisha's reborn doll, thats a different story lol).
I think the toy themed fashion is just a bit off fun and can be quite a cool look.
Wether it's My Little Pony jumpers or Barbie prints it's On trend if your daring or stupid enough to wear it.(you decide)
Im loving my new Barbie Dress and if it scores points with my kiddies then it's a bonus.

Well going to have a cuppa and then take my sleepy head to my comfy bed.
  Nite nite xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

How to do smoky eyes including full make-up tutorial

Hello my little cupcakes hope everyone is fine and dandy and feeling sweet like candy.
Im not fine and dandy. :( !!!!!!!!
No,as if having to use crutches for six weeks was'nt bad enough today my consultant decided it would be a great idea to take my stitches out of my foot and make me rock a pink plaster cast from the knee downwards!!!!!!
Seriously how traumatising, it was bad enough to stop wearing heels and sport the crutches.
But the final insult, the nail in the coffin is this pink monstrosity that is weighing down my already heavy enough frame!!!!
No i am far from impressed.

So im often asked about my eye makeup and make-up routine in general so i thought id show you how i do one of the looks i rock (rock not neccessarily in a cool way , rock as i fall over keeping my balance is probably about right)
Stylish........not!!!

I always start when doing someone's or my own make-up by cleansing and moisturising, preparing your canvas ready for making something beautiful.
For convenience il be honest i tend to use Johnsons baby wipes, and actually i ♥ them.
They are great at removing every trace of make-up and gentle enough to use on eyes and eye make-up too.
Next up is moisturiser which i don't tend to stick to the same one.
I like to swap round every now and then as i stop feeling the benefits if i use the same one for months on end.
My all time fave is "Clinique Moisture Surge" its just brilliant it really is like giving your skin a great big drink.
I also love the lancome range of moisturisers, my fave one used to be the vinefit one but i think it was discontinued.
Today im trying out the Garnier Moisture Match 24hr revitalising hydrating gel for Dull skin.
I must say this smells amazing , really nice.

And it goes on smoothly leaving a nice base for your foundation.
Again i don't stick too one foundation il try anything once.
At the moment though im using the last of my Maybelline dream matte mousse.
I always use a bronzer on the areas of my face that would naturally catch the sun so thats cheeks, forehead and a tiny sweep over my chin.
 Foundation and bronzer

With the base sorted (this is just my everyday quick base if i was going out or doing someones make-up then id use a more detailed base il go into that on a different post) now we can start on the eyes. If you have discolouration then consider using a primer and concealer but this is a eye-shadow look im concentrating on today il save those for the base tutorial.
With a soft bristled eye shadow brush (mine is Cosmapolitan  eye shadow blender) take a light coloured shadow like pearly white or cream coloured. Apply this all over your lid all the way up to your brows.

Light shadow

Next choose a colour your comfortable with im using a smoky slate colour and silver/grey duo, but any two colours with a light and dark variation will work.blend the darkest colour into the socket (crease between your eyelid and brow bone.use circular strokes to blend in, working upwards towards brows..
Take the lighter off the two colours and blend the dark on the lid so they merge together then soften the top edge of it using  the same technique.
Go back to the original light pale shade you used initialy and blend under brow bone. Now to define brows there are a variety of ways to do this but today im using a brown eyebrow pencil, the trick is to start on the fullest  part of the brow and using small hair like strokes fill in your brows. I like full on "scouse brows " lol but you could not go for as much definition as i did and take a cotton bud after to blend it in. I skipped this step though as i like the defined OTT look. Next i took a liquid black liner and ran it along my top lash line flicking out and up slightly at the edges. Finish with two coats of black mascara making sure to cover all lashes.

Ta-dah

When doing dramatic eyes its often best to keep lips neutral, i just so happrned to get hold of the new Maybelline pink punch baby lips lip balm so this is what i applied to finish the look. I really ♥the baby lip aswell and shall do a seperate post on them.

So thats my take on smoky eyes.I have got loads of tutorial posts planned so let me know if theres anything you would like to see, any tips you would like to share.
Id love to hear from you.

A passion for fashion

Hello everyone hope you are all well. I apoligise for not posting for a few days i've actually been working on a make-up tutorial for you but for some unfortunate reason out of the many pairs of tweezers ive got or shall i say had, i can't find any!!!!!!! And i don't wanna post pictures of how to do eyes, and display it on huge great caterpillars.
So not to worry i am on the motorway headed in the direction of Bradford and whilst i am there i intend to buy some new tweezers or i may even treat myself to getting them threaded if i can get an appointment.
I should have my first tutorial online by tonight anyways :).
Since i started this blog iv'e only written about beauty and cosmetics which is what the blog is predominatly intended to be about, but it is beautygeek FASHION chic, and i do love fashion.
I was actually doing a fashion course at college but had to defer it till september so i will be starting back in September and i can't wait.
Practice designs

I've always loved designing thing's, I could sit for hours with a sketch pad and a set of colouring pencils.
Infact i've always done it since being a kid.

I love going clothes shopping and people watching on a sataday afternoon.
I like to see how people put things together, street style is so inspiring.
I've always been a firm believer in wearing what you want to wear, don't dress for anybody else, dress for you in what makes you feel good. Be individual I think it's nice to mix vintage items with new and i frequently visit charity shops to hunt out some one off bargains.
I don't have a set fashion style and i change my look frequently, i suppose im a bit of a style whore lol ( beauty junkie style whore maybe thats what i should re-name my blog ha ha )
I do definatly think you should dress for your shape and always buy the correct size or even 1 size larger in some styles. I don't know why but alot of people squeeze into jeans 1 or 2 sizes smaller than they actually are and end up with a huge muffin top.Half the time it's even skinny girls that do it and end up making themselves appear larger . If your curvy embrace your curves be proud and flaunt them, but flaunt them in the right size clothing and don't care what the label says 8 or 18 can both be sexy .

I think a great way to make an outfit your own is with costume jewellery. Even if your strapped for cash Primark do loads of cheap jewellery and accessories that  can make any outfit.
If you have got money to spend on designer clothing, if you choose wisely then it dosn't work out that expensive because a good designer piece can last years.
Tk Maxx is great for picking up some good fashion and beauty bargains and i do love a good bargain.

Look out for among the beauty related reviews and tutorials I will also be adding outfit of the days and fashion posts.
well for now im off to tame the caterpillars so untill later chow xoxoxo

Maybelline Colour show by colorama review .....shade 110 urban coral

Hello and welcome back to the ramblings of a first class junkie but instead of drugs, its make-up, perfume, haircare, body lotions, fake tan, skincare, nail varnish..... oh believe me i could go on and on till the sun comes up.
It's funny because beauty/fashion does have a strange effect on me, and times in my life when im feeling down or depressed the first thing i do is go shopping for new make up, depending how bad i feel depends on how far il go, if we are talking major depression i don't reach for the Ben and Jerry's, i go for the hair dye, next up would be a fake tan followed by a set of eyelash extensions and a manicure.
Seriously i will go shopping for all this new stuff, come home and just sit for the rest of the day pampering and preening.
I wake up the next morning , shower away the fake tan residue, straighten my freshly dyed black /blonde(depending what phase im in)hair.
And you just know i feel so much better that day ready to face the world in my one woman army.
It's really like medication for me , it soothes my soul lol.Medication and therapy all in one.
Now if only i could get all of that on prescription now that would be a result.
Right let's get back on topic my latest purchase is The Maybelline colour show nail polish in urban coral and it was a total bargain from Asda at only £3.00!!!!!

D.I.Y Tooth whitening procedure (Hollywood smile cheap price tag)

£300 Teeth whitening???? Or beautygeekfashionchic's do it yourself version for under £3.00.........!

Hello my lovellies, if like me your obsessed with fashion and beauty and spend time looking at the celeb mags ,then you will know that they all have gorgeous sparkly diamond white smiles.
Now let's face facts they have spent thousands on expensive veneers or at the very least tooth whitening procedures.
Now also if like me you don't have thousands (or even hundreds of pounds spare) to spend on achieving a smile
simon cowell would be proud of then i have got a little trade secret for you.

The bicarbonate of soda and lemon tooth whitening treatment.

Now if you look in a lot of the ingredients in tooth whitening tooth pastes then you will notice bicarbonate of soda is used frequently. This is because it gets rid of stains (tea, coffee, cola, "cough cough" nicotine)etc.
The lemon is used for the citric acid.
Lemon, bicarbonate of soda and my before smile
What you do is get some bicarb or if u can't get that then baking powder will work just as well.
To the powder you need to squeeze fresh (or if you have to, then bottled will do but make sure its pure lemon juice.)
The second the juice hits the powder it reacts and froths up.
Now you can get it to a consistency that you like.
Actually like is not a word to be used here because believe me you need to hold your breath the second you  begin because the taste is dreadful.
You get a toothbrush and dip it into the mixture(after you have give it a mix and got a nice paste)
Brush your teeth for as long as you can stand or about 3 minutes.
The taste is disgusting, like a really salty bleachy kind of yukiness eughh...... your tongue wants to escape from your mouth and you want to hunt me down and ram the remaining mixture down my throat, but before you hit the unfollow button, get a glass of water, rinse your mouth out and look in the mirror.
Hopefully you will notice a whiter set of teeth shining back at you.
The first treatment wont be a miracle but if you do it weekly you should notice a huge difference.
Don't do this treatment frequently (more than once a week) as the acid in the lemon will damage your enamel if done say on a daily basis.
If done weekly and you rinse with water (you will want to ,to rid your mouth of the taste lol) then no harm should be done.
Remember it is recommended to visit a dentist every six months anyway.

And voila there you have it, it may take a few weeks to achieve but its a lot kinder on your wallet leaving you with more money to spend on new shoes...bags..lipgloss....you get my drift lols.

Bourjois Bb bronzing cream review

Review time....... Bourjois BBcream universal shade

Hello everyone as you may know i recently purchased some Bourjois make-up, one being the new bb bronzing 8 in1 cream.
This is actually the first BB cream ive bought even though i know that there are tons on the market.
This is the first bronzing BB cream ive seen aswel.
So its 8 in 1 claims to 1.even skin tone
                                        2.sheer tint
                                        3. Boosts radiance
                                        4.16hr moisturisation
                                        5.smoothes skin
                                        6.prolongs tan
                                        7.SPF 15 (yay)
                                        8.refreshing sensation
I agree it does do those things my only negative would be the universal shade.
Its not a real negative other than if you are pale or have fair skin, then you will probably need to mix a little bit of your usual foundation with it, as i noticed when i have my fake tan on its fine but my natural skin tone is a tad light for it.
That said though 10 out of 10 to Bourjois as even when i had no fake tan on the BB cream did what it said and evened my skintone without actually streaking.
BB bronzing cream
The fragrance is lovelly "addictive" in the words of Bourjois, and its application is really nice.
It blends really well leaving no nasty streaks or tidemarks, and thats even to be said if you use your
hands to put it on although a foundation brush or sponge will work better.

It is packaged in a 30ml pump bottle and i would reccomend if u are already tanned and not pale skinned.

Bourjois review Rouge Edition lipcolour

Rouge edition Bourjois lipstick in 12 rose neon

Hello guys well as i said id review the latest bourjois products i purchased here is the first review on the Rouge Edition lip colour in rose neon. The actual shade is
Loving this neon pink shade so hot :)
Really flattering and goes nice with tanned skin (natural or in my case faked).
The formula is perfect not too dry, it just glides on smoothly with no need to use a liner.
Infact its really moist on your lips almost like a nourishing product rather than just cosmetic.

The colour stayed put for ages but after about an hour and half there was no moisture left on my lips , the colour was still pretty much perfect so i just popped some clear gloss on, (though you could use lip balm or vaseline if u wanted to).
Pout for the camera lol

All in all a good product which could become a firm favourite in my collection.
I would buy this again and would try others in the range.

If  anyone has any suggestions for me on any aspect of my blog, or have any requests please either comment or contact me on twitter @beautygeekfashc id really appreciate feedback good or bad xxxxxx

Hospital + operation -heels= Excuse to buy new make-up

Hi guys well ive been in hospital having an operation on my foot which is rather depressing for a few reasons firstly being not able to work on offering you guys new posts, and secondly im not able to walk on it for 6 weeks (heels and crutches don't mix, avoid at all costs).
Bourjois beauty buys
So while ive been under the weather ive done what most of us would do and that is bought myself loads of new feel good products to make myself feel and look better
(You should have seen me after the anaesthetic, think of the horror movie "MAMA"and your nearly there)

Now one of the things i bought Bourjois had a 3 for 2 on with free sunnies at Boots so i chose the delice de soleil bronzing powder in 14 olive/tanned, the BB bronzing cream 8 in 1 which actually comes in a universal shade and the Rouge edition lipstick in 12 rose neon.
I really like these bourjois products
Im loving the lipstick i think the shades lovelly and summery and it goes on a dream, infact im really pleased with all 3 products and by the end of today there will be individual reviews on each so watch this space for those.
Ive always loved bourjois though i have really fond memories of being around 15 and my mums friend came to stay, while she was over she let me loose in her make-up case and it was mainly bourjois.
I remember it now dark brown lipliner with frosty pink lipstick and brown eyeshadows, in hindsight i think i looked like a trailer trash stripper but i loved it at the time.
So anyways i will try and make up on lost time blogging with loads of new posts follow me on twitter @beautygeekfashc for updates on new posts

love n hugs

Nip + Fab 365 Body Glow Fix clear tanning gel (medium) review

Hi I just thought id let everyone know about this new tan i just tried. I used it on my face before bed last night and awoke looking naturally sunkissed.
I really love this tan although I was a bit nervous with the fact it goes on as a clear gel(had a bit of ocd over where Id put it on my face lol) but it actually worked lovelly.
If you can see , im make up free in the picture but my skin looks alot lot healthier than usual (id be too scared too post a before picture,im trying to get followers not scare them away ha ha).
I think id be too scared too use this all over even though it is for face and body, but thats just because I know id be obssessing over where id put it and if id missed anywhere out, I can't see any reason as too why this would not

Ciate caviar pearls -shooting stars with ciate cookies and cream glass beads manicure review

Ciate nail polish

Hiya guys this is something ive had for ages, it was a freebie with Marie Claire magazine and is "ciate nail caviar set with glass beads.
This retails on there website for £18.00 and after trying this product I would definatly buy this, plus they have a wide selection off colours to choose from
The one I used was caviar pearls shooting star with cookies and cream beads.

Okay so my weak area when it comes too beauty regime's is definatly my nails
but I found this so easy to apply.
I applied one average coating of polish ,then I found it to be less waste full too tip the
glass beads into my hand and sprinkle them onto the tacky polish,( be careful to not let the polish dry too much or it wont stick).
I just used the beads on my big toe nails although you could definatly use them on every toe.
I painted the rest of my nails with the shooting stars polish and too finish applied a clear top coat  (an old avon one ive had years).
Although it isn't essential to use a top coat I would definatly recommend that you do as it will last alot longer.
Cookies and cream

While I was looking at the Ciate website I noticed the glass beads could be used on lips also so I decided to give it a go and lets just say I can still feel beads at the back of my throat now.
I DO NOT RECOMEND THIS FOR A NITE OUT. For a photo shoot maybe but the beads are a nitemare on your teeth and gums.

Promtastic hollywood glamour

Maddie had her high school prom last night and "Wow" hasn't my little sister grown into a beautiful young woman?.
Top marks for the whole look, pure, understated ,glamour.
From the tousled ringlets complete with side plait, to the perfect shade of  tan, i think she pulls off this glam look effortlessly.
With matching metallic shoes and clutch against the perfect "summer is here" crisp white dress and co-ordinating nails maddies look is classy, and elegant.
I think its something to be aware of in the times where " The only Way is Essex" cast are most teenagers style icons (Don't get me wrong, im not adverse to a bit of TOWIE) , but ive seen too many people dressed up for proms with OTT sludgy fake tans, talons the witch from "the wizard of oz" would be proud of , eyelashes that resemble those wierd furry brown caterpillars, and hair that hard and overstyled it would still ping back after a steam roller went over it.
Joking aside my point is don't stop the spray tans (maddie is sporting one on the prom picture) but remember less can quite often be more.
Think classy , not brassy and have fun, there are no fashion and beauty rules, what works for me may not work for you and vice-versa.
Stick to your own style, never ever try to be like someone else because thats who you think you should be!
Be yourself and express yourself .
And remember while people are talking about you, they are leaving somebody else alone lol xoxoxo

Beautygeekfashionchic is born xxx

Hello and Welcome to the world of fashion and beauty taken from the heads of two barmy sisters
We hope to bring you reviews, news, and how to's on anything beauty and fashion related.
I remember being 7 years old and the excitement i felt over being given my mums old make up bag, the smell of the fuschia coloured Avon lip gloss, the sticky feeling it left on my lips and the shine of the silver cream eyeshadow.
I loved it all, as much as i could cram on my face,I would sit in the dressing table mirror making myself up, complete with madonna style beauty spot!
I loved playing dress up with my mums clothes, loved putting outfits together even aged 2 i used to parade around in stillettos and beads round my neck lol.
Fast forward 6years and along came "Maddie"( yes, that did come from the Beauty spot wearing days of listening to "like a virgin" my mum wouldn't allow Madonna, so "Maddie" it was), my darling sister.
Now I had my own little model to dress up (torture ?you decide) , my weapons of choice make up,curling tongs , sequins and a needle and cotton ( I even sewed the top shes wearing " Whoop whoop"), this pic virtually borders on child abuse lol (i had the best of intention...)
