This is fashion

Well how time flies,  I can not believe it has been so long since I last posted , I have  just checked and  the last time was September.
I knew i had been busy but hey 8 months ................ that is just ridiculous.

So what have i been doing that has taken so much of my time?. Well as you may or may not know I am now studying fashion at college. It is absolutly great and I love it.
I have always  enjoyed designing, but have never had the abillity or skills too bring my creations to life, so maybe, just maybe now is my time too shine...........

I have also always had an interest in Vintage clothing and antique and collectible's, from being small the enjoyment i get from finding a vintage pair of lacy gloves or a gorgeous fur coat, i swear is a better buzz than any excitement the high street gives me, don,t get me wrong I love that too and its about balance and mixing it all up new and old to make that outfit "YOUR" outfit.
so I decided to follow  my heart and I have set up  my own shop on Etsy
This is fashion
I intend to get a lot more clothing items and i am still desperately trying to source some 50's prom dresses but i have a selection of handbags, shoes, coats dresses, jewellery etc, and i suppose its about growing a great collection not a rush job of tatt.............................................

I also have some Vintage Christian Dior , Louis Vuitton and other designer items available aswell as some cool 80,s costume jewellery.

The only problem i am facing at the minute, is not keeping all the stock too myself, obviously , me being the shopaholic that i am, im finding this quite a difficult task.

Alongside the vintage I also have my own handmade jewellery designs and also some antique and collectible items.

Il do some Vintage styling posts soon and show of some of the goodies i have my eye on.

At college at the moment Im planning a photo shoot of one of my  designs and am planning on doing it pin-up style so that should be fun and hopefully you guys maybe would ike to see the pin - up make up technique as a tutorial so watch this space ( I promise too not keep you waiting too long again lol)

I will start trying to blog again, I won't make promises I can't keep though , so won't be daily, but Il try and make it  weekly at least.

Nail Rock Designer Nail Wrap Review

Hiya guys and girlies so I have been ultra busy with things and blogging has been left in the background a bit, but not too worry it won't be a permanent thing that blogging gets neglected but I've just started college plus with my osteomyelitis being persistent things have been a little tiring but I am here.
So yeah finally back at college studying fashion which has been a long time coming (I actually started last September but due to health reasons I had to be deferred until now)
So today I thought I would sample my new nail wraps by Nail Rock because I have used them before and thought they were amazing schamazing super duper doo (ha ha )
So these ones were purchased from my local trusty boots store and were in the bargain basket at a mere £3.66 and I went for a cool black and white striped design.
The kits are really handy and come complete with nail prep wipe and nail file with a little orange stick.
They are super quick and easy to apply you prep nails with the wipe(you can also optionally buff your nails aswel to aid adhesion, push cuticles back file edges and your ready to start your transformation.
Now you basically smooth them over your entire nail and file the excess off. If you use a warm hairdryer to gently heat the wraps you will get a more uniform smooth result (I unfortunately didn't' have my hairdryer with me though and I ended up with some creases.
You can apply them over every nail or get creative choosing alternate nails or they look fan cut into strips and shapes over polished nails. Intact the last pack I had I used  to do all over my nails and then after that with the leftovers a week or so later I painted nails with a coloured polish and then used scissors to cut diaganol, vertical strips etc and they looked amazing.
So back to these ones, I thought they were OK but compared to previous designs and applications I was dissapointed. They did'nt look as striking and were creased, but I should have used my hairdryer to apply so I have only myself to blame for that.

They did'nt last as long either as usual as the edges kept curling up and by next evening I felt suffocated by them(don't' ask, I get a very weird feeling sometimes when nails are covered and I feel as though I can't, nails can't' breathe) probably need psychiatric help for that though lol so yeah I pulled them off.
Nail rocks are great though and don't' damage your nails which is helpful.

I think nail wraps look really eye catching and although I am sure there are plenty of Nail technicians out there that have got the skills, artistic flair and patience to re-create some of the designs available in a wrap there are some designs that could only be available in wrap form. Also you could never create the designs in such short time with out the risk of smudging and smearing, as you would with polish.
For this reason I do think wraps are a wonderful creation especially as I am crap with my nails and with wraps I can actually have pretty nice looking hands. Even though I found this particular design harder to achieve a perfect finish, giving what I already know about past applications I won't let this deter me from buying more Wrap sets by Nail Rock. I have tried other brands before and absolutly hated them, I once paid £12.00 for some gorgeous tribal wraps and they were that hard and plasticky, that they refused to mould around my nail, again another expensive brand (luckily on offer at TkMaxx) are sat in the pack still gathering dust as they were too thick and would'nt stick, I was well upset aswell as they were a beautiful metalic Silver and would have been lovely if they had actually worked.
I have always wondered how ineffective products that are poor or don't actually work, make it on to the shelfs for retail, i mean companies test these products don't they? really strange. I hav'nt named the poor products yet as I am working on a post of bad products that I have bought that either don't do what they should do or are not good so I will let you know the wraps Ive struggled with on that post.

So let me no what you think, or what your fave wrap is, have you noticed differences in different colour , brand of wraps? or do you prefer false nails or freshly manicured nails. Please , please comment I love to hear from you all and I hate too see my comments section empty makes me feel like I have failed to connect with you somewhere, and if i have lol then let me no where!
If you do comment and you are a fellow blogger then give me your links I love to read new blogs :)
